HOW TO BOOK THE WINDHARPS

Roger Winfield has not been touring so much for the last two or three years owing to other musical commitments - but in 2004 he intends to start looking for suitable venues to display the harps. Arts administrators, festival organisers etc please note!
The following info has been used in the past to clarify what is involved in a windharp gig.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

The Harps are fitted with specially developed magnetic pick-ups that create sound from even the gentlest of breezes. Each instrument is channelled through a mixing desk. The sound is amplified through a compact PA system.A standard mains power supply is required. Roger Winfield can supply a 30 metre extension cable.Total area needed is approx 20ft by 15ft.Choice of site is important for a successful display of the Aeolian Harps. The site needs to be exposed to as many wind directions as possible, with access for a vehicle and a minimum amount of background noise. Some distance from any other events is helpful. An ideal site will attract the casual passer-by as well as those who will have seen the event advertised. In the absence of wind, pre recorded CD's are played. When displaying the instruments, Roger Winfield, a good comunicator is always on hand to discuss ideas and answer questions.
